Hei Matau (Fishhook) - Originally Māori have been fishermen. Their main food source was the sea, so a fishhook of high quality was an unbelievably valuable item to own. Koru - The Koru is a symbol that represents both harmony and eternal growth. It also holds powerful meaning symbolising new life, growth, strength, and peace. The Koru's circular and spiral shape is based on the structure of the unfurling native New Zealand silver fern frond.
